Description
Overview
Bacteriostatic Water is a sterile aqueous laboratory reagent containing Water for Injection and a small concentration of benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative.
It is commonly used during the laboratory reconstitution of selected research compounds where multiple withdrawals from the same sterile vial may be required.
The inclusion of benzyl alcohol assists in limiting bacterial growth following initial vial access when handled using appropriate laboratory procedures.
Selection of a suitable laboratory reconstitution solution should always be based on the characteristics of the individual research compound and the applicable laboratory protocol.
For legitimate laboratory, analytical, scientific and in-vitro research purposes only.
