Overview
KPV is a synthetic tripeptide composed of the amino-acid sequence Lysine–Proline–Valine (Lys–Pro–Val), derived from the C-terminal region of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (a-MSH) and designed as a research model for investigating melanocortin biology, peptide signalling and cellular communication.
Despite consisting of only three amino acids, KPV provides researchers with a remarkably simple peptide model for exploring how minimal peptide fragments retain selected structural and signalling characteristics of much larger parent molecules.
AMINOSPX supplies KPV exclusively for legitimate laboratory, analytical, scientific and in vitro research purposes.
Not intended for human consumption or for medical, therapeutic, diagnostic, veterinary, cosmetic or food use.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is KPV?
KPV is a synthetic three-amino-acid peptide composed of Lysine, Proline and Valine and derived from the C-terminal region of a-MSH. Its minimal structure provides researchers with a defined model for examining how small peptide fragments retain signalling characteristics associated with larger parent molecules.
What laboratory applications is KPV investigated for?
KPV is studied as a model for exploring how short-peptide signalling interacts with inflammatory pathways, NF-kB-associated signalling, intestinal epithelial biology and innate immune communication. Its compact structure allows these relationships to be examined using a highly defined peptide fragment.
How should KPV be stored?
The lyophilised material should be stored in a sealed, dry environment below 25°C. Where laboratory reconstitution is undertaken, store reconstituted material at 2–8°C. Avoid freeze–thaw cycles to help preserve product integrity.
Is a Certificate of Analysis (COA) available?
Where available, the latest Certificate of Analysis (COA) is included within the product gallery and can also be accessed through the Aminospx COA Library.
